The College of Veterinary Medicine at the Konkuk University is the only veterinary college in the vicinity of Seoul. Formerly part of the College of Animal Husbandry, it became an independent college in 1999.
Our professional curriculum prepares veterinary students for a wide variety of careers in animal agriculture, caring companion animals, traditional medical research, or public health areas. Throughout the four-year program, students learn the skills and knowledge required to become successful veterinarians, including a fundamental yet broad science background and clinical and professional skills. The college also prides itself on the outstanding activities of its alumni who are practicing in Seoul area.
The education direction of the college embraces teaching knowledge and techniques to produce highly-trained veterinarians for service in advanced basic medical sciences, clinics, and public health areas.

The College of Life & Environmental Science at Konkuk University restructured its organization and newly started to lead the life-environment friendly science in 2004. Our highly experienced faculty members, outstanding student, and cutting-edge facilities are well recognized in the areas of life-environmental-energy science with cross-linked approaches.
The College of Life & Environmental Science at Konkuk University consists of two divisions and four major in undergraduate, master and Ph. D. programs. Twenty-five faculty members, students organization including 650 student, and administration sections are closely tied and work together to research and to learn the relations oriented science, not the subject oriented, through seminars, various class activities field trips and internship.
We are very proud of amounts of projects funded outside sources and publications in the related fields, as well as networks with practitioners. Particularly, our college has been gaining respects from researchers and practitioners owing to unique contributions to the areas of a) environmental conservation and management, b) evaluation, planning, restoration and pollution prevention for natural and residential environments, and c) new function of organic materials, understanding of the life at molecular level, bio-energy from waste, and horticultural therapy.
Our College of Life & Environmental Sciences will continue to explore the new academic fields along with the persistent education of the technology, and will play a major role in the life-oriented eco-friendly field, which is required in the future 21st century.
